Mothers charged with murder in fentanyl-related deaths of young children.
A 40-year-old Detroit mother has been charged with felony murder and child abuse in the drug-related death of her 4-year-old son. The boy went into cardiac arrest on April 10, 2022, and later died at a hospital. Fentanyl was found in his system, and the manner of death was not immediately determined. The mother called 911 on Friday and turned herself in to the Detroit police homicide section. She also faces a charge of delivery of a narcotic causing death.
