Somerset astrophotographer Josh Dury expressed his emotions after being shortlisted for the Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition for his photo of The Callanish Stone Circle on the Isle of Lewis. Although he didn't win the top prize, the image titled 'The Enigma of the North' captured the attention of scientists investigating a giant cloud of gas. The competition also awarded two 14-year-old boys from China the Young Astronomy Photographer of the Year prize. Dury, who began his passion for astrophotography at the age of seven, encourages people to witness the northern lights and other celestial wonders in the night sky.
