"Decade-long Abduction: Nigerian Woman and Children Rescued After 10 Years"

Nigerian soldiers have rescued Lydia Simon, a woman who was abducted by extremists in Chibok a decade ago while she was a schoolgirl, along with her three children. Simon, who is five months pregnant, was found in the Gwoza council area of Borno state, the epicenter of the insurgency. She was among the 276 girls seized from their school in Chibok in April 2014, and about 82 of them are still in captivity. The Nigerian army did not provide details on how she was freed, but some of the recently rescued women have reported facing trauma and violence during their captivity.
