American-Israeli Soldier Confirmed Dead in Oct. 7 Attack

Omer Maxim Neutra, a 21-year-old American-Israeli soldier, was confirmed dead by the Israel Defense Forces during the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on southern Israel. Initially believed to be taken hostage, Neutra, a tank platoon commander, was among the approximately 1,200 killed. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Neutra's family expressed deep grief over his death, emphasizing his dedication and leadership. Efforts continue to recover his body from Gaza, as well as other hostages still held by Hamas.
