Tragic Bear Attack Claims Lives of Experienced Hiking Couple in Banff National Park

A couple, experienced backcountry campers, were attacked and killed by a grizzly bear in Canada's Banff National Park. The couple had been updating a family member via text messages throughout their trip, and their distressing final message, "Bear attack bad," was received before their deaths. Park officials received an alert from their satellite communicator and arrived to find the couple and their dog dead, with signs of a struggle. The bear was euthanized for public safety.
