Surfer Vanishes in Australian Waters as Enormous Shark Strikes

A 55-year-old surfer is missing and presumed dead after witnesses reported seeing a massive great white shark, estimated to be around 13 feet long, grab him in the waves near Granites Beach in South Australia. Local surfer Jeff Schmucker attempted to find the man but encountered the shark circling his Jet Ski. Authorities have resumed the search for the man's remains, and the area is known for frequent shark sightings. Unprovoked shark attacks on humans are rare, with only 42 confirmed incidents in South Australia and nearly 700 in Australia overall.
