Highland Monkey Escapades: From Drone Spottings to Nut Theft

An escaped Japanese macaque from the Highland Wildlife Park in the Highlands has been spotted for the second time by thermal imaging drones, but efforts to catch the seven-year-old male have been unsuccessful. The monkey, not named, is hoped to be returning to join the resident troop, and volunteers from the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team have joined the search. Locals have been advised not to approach the animal and to refrain from leaving food outside to encourage its return to the park. The Royal Zoological Society Scotland does not believe the monkey poses a threat to the public or pets.
