Australian Man Fined for Surfing with Pet Python

A surfer in Australia has been fined for taking his pet python, Shiva, out in public after a video of them surfing together went viral. Higor Fiuza and Shiva were frequently seen at beaches on the Gold Coast, but Fiuza was fined around $1,500 for breaching the terms of his pet's license. While he had the correct permit to keep the snake, he was not allowed to remove it from its licensed premises. Officials were concerned about Shiva's well-being, as snakes generally avoid water and the ocean can be too cold for them.
