Paris Bans Rental E-Scooters Despite Low Voter Turnout

Parisians have overwhelmingly voted against the use of for-hire e-scooters in a mini-referendum, with 89% rejecting them due to concerns over public safety, environmental cost-benefit, and public nuisance. The 15,000 e-scooters could vanish from central Paris at the end of August when the city's contracts with the three operators expire.
