Indonesia Teams Up with China to Introduce Southeast Asia's First Bullet Train

Indonesia has launched Southeast Asia's first bullet train, a high-speed rail line connecting Jakarta and Bandung. The $7.3 billion project, funded by Chinese state-owned firms as part of China's Belt and Road initiative, opened to the public after delays. The train travels at a speed of 217 mph, cutting travel time between the two cities from three hours to under an hour. Plans are underway to extend the line to other major cities in Indonesia.
