Vietnam Implements Social Media User Identity Verification

Vietnam is set to require social media users to verify their identity on both local and foreign platforms as part of the Telecommunications Law Amendment to be issued by the end of this year. The move aims to curb online scams and enable law enforcement agencies to track down offenders using social media to break the law. The regulation will need the approval of the country's lawmakers, and details have not been revealed yet.
