Twitter threatened with shutdown by India, Turkey, and Nigeria, says founder.

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey revealed that India, Nigeria, and Turkey threatened to shut down the social media platform unless it complied with orders to restrict accounts. India wanted to curb journalists' and protesters' use of the platform, while Nigeria suspended Twitter in 2021 after it removed a post from then-President Muhammadu Buhari. Turkey had also restricted the platform in the past. Dorsey added that the situation in Nigeria was such that Twitter could not even put its employees on the ground in the country out of fear of what the government might do to them.
