"Cameo App: A Tool for Russian Propaganda Exploiting American Celebrities"

The Cameo app, known for personalized video messages from celebrities, was reportedly used by Russian trolls to create anti-Ukraine propaganda. At least seven celebrities, including Elijah Wood and Priscilla Presley, were asked to make videos addressing "Vladimir" who was portrayed as a drug addict. These videos were manipulated to make it seem like they were addressing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Cameo stated that such bookings violate their community guidelines. The app has also been used for political purposes, as seen when a senator commissioned a video to taunt another senator.
