France will deploy 7,000 soldiers and raise its alert level to the highest position after a teacher was fatally stabbed by a suspect of Chechen origin, who also wounded three others at a school in Arras. The attacker, Mohammed Moguchkov, was arrested and had shouted "Allahu Akbar!" during the incident. President Emmanuel Macron denounced it as an act of "Islamist terror" and suggested a link to ongoing violence in the Middle East. The deployment of soldiers from Operation Sentinelle will be completed by Monday evening. The attack comes three years after the beheading of teacher Samuel Paty.
