Youngest Cardinal Joins Diverse Group in Service to the Poor

Cardinal Mykola Bychok, at 44, has become the world's youngest cardinal, appointed by Pope Francis. He serves as the bishop of the Eparchy of Sts. Peter and Paul for Ukrainian Catholics in Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania. Bychok, who follows the Eastern-rite tradition, wore traditional Ukrainian monastic attire during the ceremony. Despite his role in Australia, he expressed a deep connection to his native Ukraine, currently affected by war, and asked for prayers for his homeland.
