"Pope Gifts King Charles III with Relic of True Cross for Coronation"

Pope Francis has given King Charles III a relic of Christ's cross, which has been incorporated into a processional cross for the king's coronation. The fragments of the true cross were given as an "ecumenical sign" and are now under glass in the center of the coronation cross. The cross will be shared by the Anglican and Catholic churches in Wales, and is inscribed with words from the last sermon of St. David, patron saint of Wales.
