Pope Francis to Skip Good Friday Procession Due to Cold Weather and Health Concerns

Pope Francis will not attend the traditional Way of the Cross procession in Rome on Good Friday due to concerns over the unseasonably cold weather and his recent recovery from bronchitis. Instead, he will view the event remotely from the Vatican and pray alongside the crowd. The Way of the Cross is a Catholic worship service in which those gathered meditate on the Passion of the Christ. Earlier in the day, the pontiff presided over a Good Friday celebration inside St. Peter's Basilica.
