Pope Francis Skips Good Friday Services Due to Health Concerns and Cold Weather

Pope Francis skipped an outdoor "Way of the Cross" procession at Rome's Colosseum on Good Friday after being hospitalized last week for bronchitis. Doctors ordered him to follow the service from his residence in the Vatican as a precaution due to the cold weather. This year's meditations collected comments that migrants, refugees, and victims of war or human trafficking made to the pope at various events during his travels or at the Vatican over the past year. Francis spent four days in the hospital for treatment of bronchitis, recovered quickly with antibiotic therapy, and resumed public activities last Sunday.
