LDS Church to Construct 15 New Temples Worldwide, Including First in Muslim Nation.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced 15 new temples to be built around the world, bringing the church’s total to 315 temples announced, under construction or renovation, or dedicated around the world. The new temples include locations in Guatemala, Peru, Brazil, the Philippines, Indonesia, Germany, Canada, California, Missouri, Virginia, and North Carolina. President Russell M. Nelson stated that the reason for building temples is to draw closer to Jesus Christ and receive essential ordinances, and the church is doing all within its power to make the blessings of the temple more accessible to its members around the world.
