Bucha's Resilience: Rising from Russian Troops' Devastation

The Kyiv suburb of Bucha in Ukraine is slowly recovering from the devastating Russian invasion in February 2022. Many homes and structures were damaged or destroyed, but reconstruction efforts are underway, with over half of the affected properties in some stage of rebuilding. Bucha's mayor hopes that 70% of the damaged structures will be reconstructed by the end of the year. The town recently held a concert and unveiled a Wall of Honor to remember the 501 civilians killed during the occupation. The Howard G. Buffett Foundation has played a significant role in funding the reconstruction projects, committing $450 million to various initiatives in Ukraine.
