Namibia's President Hage Geingob has passed away at the age of 82 while receiving medical treatment for cancer. He had revealed his diagnosis last month and was set to travel to the US for treatment. Vice-President Nangolo Mbumba announced his death, and the country is due to hold elections in November, with the governing Swapo party choosing Mrs Nandi-Ndaitwah as its presidential candidate.
