David Miranda, a Brazilian politician and husband of journalist Glenn Greenwald, has died at the age of 37 after a 9-month battle in the ICU. Miranda had represented the state of Rio de Janeiro since 2019 and was the first gay man elected to Rio's City Council and federal Congress at 32. Greenwald paid tribute to his husband's political achievements and his role in the Snowden story. The cause of death was not disclosed.
