Typhoon Khanun wreaks havoc in Russia, leaving thousands homeless

Russia has deployed a task force to oversee the cleanup efforts in the Primorye region after Typhoon Khanun caused widespread flooding, affecting thousands of homes and leaving 28 settlements cut off. The flood in Ussuriysk, the second largest city in the region, is said to be the worst and biggest in a decade, impacting between 35 and 40 percent of its territory. No casualties have been reported, and the authorities have sent humanitarian aid and helicopters to assist with rescue operations.
