Typhoon Khanun Returns to Japanese Islands, Causing Further Damage and Injuries

Typhoon Khanun, which caused damage and injuries in Okinawa and other southern Japanese islands, is expected to make a U-turn and bring more rain to the region. The typhoon is currently moving west but is forecasted to turn east on Friday. China, which experienced deadly flooding and damage from a previous typhoon, is expected to be largely spared. In Okinawa, the typhoon injured 41 people and left nearly 30% of homes without power. Recovery work has been hampered, and some flights have resumed at Naha Airport. China and Taiwan are also making preparations for the storm.
