Tragedy Strikes Xi'an as Mudslide Claims Lives and Leaves Many Missing

A mudslide in the north-western Chinese city of Xi'an has resulted in the death of 21 people, with six still missing. The mudslide, caused by heavy rainfall from Typhoon Khanun, destroyed houses and infrastructure, cutting power to 900 households. China's ministry of emergency management held a meeting to discuss flood prevention and emergency response measures in affected provinces. The country has been experiencing unusually high summer rainfall and convective weather, exacerbating the impact of recent typhoons.
