Massive Evacuation Efforts as Firefighters Combat La Palma Wildfire

A wildfire on the Spanish island of La Palma has burned out of control, leading to the evacuation of at least 4,000 people. The fire, which started in a wooded area, has destroyed at least 20 houses and affected over 4,650 hectares. Firefighters are battling the blaze with the help of aerial units, but shifting winds and extreme temperatures have made containment challenging. In addition to La Palma, a forest fire in Tenerife has forced the evacuation of 50 people. This is the first natural crisis on La Palma since a volcanic eruption in 2021.
