U.S. Plans Long-Term Aid for Ukraine with Tanks and F-16 Jets.

The US is in discussions with allies on how to supply F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, while training for Ukrainian troops on US-supplied Abrams tanks has started. America's top military officer, General Mark Milley, warned it could be some time before Kyiv could use the Western-supplied military equipment against Russian forces. The US has given the green light to supply F-16s, but details about delivery, training, flying tactics, and locations are still being worked out. The training for around 200 Ukrainian troops on Abrams tanks has started in Germany, aimed at getting the troops ready on the systems before 31 tanks the Biden administration has promised are scheduled to arrive this fall.
