US AC-130 Obliterates Rocket-Attacking Truck in Iraq

An AC-130 gunship destroyed a truck in Western Iraq after witnessing Iranian-backed militia fighters use it to launch a ballistic missile attack on US troops, injuring eight Americans. The AC-130 crew was able to identify the launch point and respond with a self-defense strike, resulting in enemy casualties. The injured US forces are described as having non-serious injuries. This marks the first time since October 17 that US troops in Iraq or Syria have been attacked by a ballistic missile. The Pentagon has not ruled out preemptive strikes against Iranian-backed militia groups in Iraq.
