Ukraine's Struggle in Bakhmut: Bombing, Shelling, and Defending.

Ukraine is using American-made Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) to target Russian forces in the city of Bakhmut, a crucial battleground on the war's front lines. The JDAM-equipped bombs allow the Ukrainians to attack from a less vulnerable position and hit targets with much bigger bombs. The Ukrainian military received a limited number of JDAM and JDAM-ER from the United States as part of a $1.85 billion military aid package. The fighting over the city continues to escalate, even as Russia has seen a heavy loss to its troops.
