10 missing as Japanese military helicopter crashes into ocean near Okinawa.

A Japanese UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter carrying 10 crew members disappeared from radar on Thursday afternoon while on a reconnaissance mission north of Miyako island. Objects appearing to be aircraft parts were spotted in the area, and debris believed to be aircraft parts was found. The government is aggressively building up its defence capability in southwestern Japan in response to China’s increasingly assertive military activity in the region, including Taiwan. The priority now is to rescue those on board.
