Government Disputes Ownership of Family's $600,000 Renovated Historic Property

A couple who spent $600,000 renovating a bayside home in Nova Scotia, Canada, were told by the Department of Justice that they couldn't sell it because the local government had illegally auctioned off the property. The couple had bought the house for $50,000 in 2021 after a small claims court ruling, but the Justice Department argued that the previous owner was not notified of the auction.
