Security guards on a superyacht opened fire on Yemeni Coast Guard boats, mistaking them for pirates, near the town of Nishtun in the Gulf of Aden. The Coast Guard returned fire and followed the yacht for an hour until communication was established and the misunderstanding resolved. The UK Maritime Trade Operations initially classified the incident as an "attack" but later downgraded it to an "incident" involving a government agency. The Gulf of Aden has seen attacks on ships due to the war in Yemen and Somali piracy in the past.
