International Efforts Underway for Sudan Evacuation

Britain has launched a large-scale evacuation of its citizens from Sudan, with military flights departing from an airfield outside Khartoum. The country has estimated that about 4,000 of its nationals are in Sudan. One flight has already left with two more expected overnight. The British government said it was ready to take over the running of the airfield to allow flights to continue if needed. The government is also exploring other options for evacuations, including Port Sudan.
