American mother and daughter trapped in war-torn Sudan, family seeks help to bring them home.

Trillian Clifford and her 18-month-old daughter are among the Americans trapped in Sudan as violence continues to escalate between rival military factions. The U.S. has evacuated diplomatic staff from its embassy in Khartoum and temporarily suspended operations, but diplomatic and consular work continues in the country. Clifford and her daughter are sheltering in place in her apartment in Khartoum amid a fierce military standoff that brings Sudan on the brink of another civil war. The U.S. also doesn’t have an exact handle on the number of Americans who are trapped inside the country.
