"Yemen's Houthi Rebels Attack US-Flagged Ships Carrying Defense Department Cargo"

Two American-flagged ships carrying cargo for the US Defense and State departments were attacked by Yemen's Houthi rebels, with the US Navy intercepting some of the incoming fire. The attacks on the container ships Maersk Detroit and Maersk Chesapeake raise concerns about the group's ongoing attacks on shipping through the vital Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Qatar warned that its deliveries were affected by the Houthi attacks, while the US and the UK have launched airstrikes seeking to stop the attacks. The Danish shipper Maersk identified the affected vessels and stated that the crew, ship, and cargo are safe.
