The head of the Chief Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, ordered that the largest Ukrainian flag be installed on Zmiinyi Island, facing Crimea, after its liberation. The operation to liberate the island involved artillery training, aviation support, preliminary reconnaissance, and mine clearance. Ukrainian special forces successfully took control of the island, lowering the Russian flag and raising the Ukrainian flag on the official flagpole. Additionally, a cat was rescued from the island and is now in safe hands.
