"Thai Hostages Freed from Gaza Shed Light on Migrant Workers' Plight"

Anucha Angkaew, a Thai hostage held by Hamas for seven weeks, has been released and returned home to his village in Thailand. He described the difficult conditions in captivity, including limited food and dimly lit tunnels. Thailand has lost the most citizens in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, with at least 39 Thai nationals killed and 32 kidnapped. After weeks of diplomatic efforts, the Thai government secured the release of 23 hostages. One former hostage, Manee Jirachat, recounted witnessing the murder of his friends during his captivity. He expressed gratitude for his release but stated that he does not plan to return to Israel and will seek work in South Korea instead.
