Sweden's Special Envoy Suspended by International Islamic Body for Quran Desecration

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has suspended Sweden's special envoy over a series of Quran burnings in Stockholm that sparked anger and mass protests in Muslim-majority countries. The suspension was due to the granting of licenses by Swedish authorities that enabled the abuse of the sanctity of the Quran and Islamic symbols. The Iraqi government has cut off diplomatic relations with Sweden, and demonstrators in Iraq stormed the Swedish Embassy.
