"Qatar Releases 8 Former Indian Navy Personnel Jailed on Espionage Charges"

The Qatar court has released all eight former Indian Navy personnel in its custody, with seven of them having returned to India, following diplomatic talks between Qatar and India. The Ministry of External Affairs welcomed the decision and commended the release of the ex-Indian Navy men, who were previously sentenced to death in Qatar on charges of espionage related to a submarine program. The Indian government had intervened to commute the death sentence to extended prison terms and has been working to bring the remaining released veteran back to India.
