Israeli Airstrike Damages Aleppo Airport, Syria Claims

The Syrian defense ministry has accused Israel of carrying out an airstrike that damaged the runways at Aleppo International Airport, rendering it out of service. This is not the first time the airport has been targeted, with previous attacks in May and September 2022. Aleppo airport has been reportedly used by Iran to transport weapons and military equipment to Syria, and it was also being used to bring in aid for earthquake victims. The area has been a hotspot for pro-Iranian proxies and Hezbollah since the Syrian regime reconquered Aleppo in 2016.
