International Urgency: Gaza Hospital Attacks Demand Immediate Action

UN agencies, including UNFPA, UNICEF, and WHO, have made a plea for international action to end hospital attacks in Gaza. They expressed horror at reports of numerous deaths, including children, in hospitals across Gaza city and other northern areas of the Strip. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that the second largest hospital in Gaza, Al-Quds, is effectively out of service due to fuel shortages. WHO has lost communication with Al Shifa Hospital, the largest in Gaza, where patients have died due to a lack of fuel. The Israeli military denies targeting hospitals, claiming that militants are using them as shields. The agencies called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and unimpeded access to provide fuel, medical supplies, and water to save lives and preserve the healthcare system in Gaza.
