Former Russian Soldier Exposes War Crimes to ICC

A former Russian soldier, Igor Salikov, has sought asylum in the Netherlands and wants to testify at the International Criminal Court (ICC) about war crimes he witnessed while fighting in Ukraine. Salikov claims to have been a member of the Russian-backed forces in eastern Ukraine and worked as an instructor for the Wagner mercenary group. He has already provided testimony to Ukrainian prosecutors, who have confirmed some of his claims. The ICC has received information from Salikov but cannot confirm or deny his engagement as a potential witness. The court is currently investigating alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Ukraine.
