"UN retirees provide refuge for Ukrainian family in Berlin"

Ukrainian refugees in Berlin share their stories of fleeing their homeland due to the ongoing war with Russia. They recount the pain and worry of leaving their families behind and starting a new life in a foreign land. Berlin Arrival Support (BAS) emerged as a group to provide Ukrainian refugees with food, accommodation, and counseling when they enter Berlin. Café Ukraine, a group of Ukrainian refugees, has brought together over 4,500 people and hosted 55 events. Its goal is to create a more permanent intercultural center in Berlin.
