Surviving Against All Odds: The Incredible Story of Four Children in Colombia's Jungle

Four children from the Huitoto Indigenous community in Colombia were rescued after surviving for 40 days alone in the Amazon jungle following a plane crash. The eldest child, Lesly Mukutuy, used ancestral knowledge to identify edible fruits, find suitable water, and avoid dangerous plants and animals. The children were found in a small jungle clearing 3 miles from the wreckage, where they had been hiding out of fear. The children are being treated for malnutrition and minor injuries.
