Stonehenge Celebrates Summer Solstice with Thousands of Visitors.

Thousands of people, including druids and hippies, gathered at Stonehenge in southern England to celebrate the Summer Solstice, the longest day in the northern hemisphere. The World Heritage site was open to the public for an extended period inside the stone circle, and druids performed dawn rituals in their traditional white robes. Stonehenge, one of the world's most famous prehistoric monuments, was built on the flat lands of Salisbury Plain in stages starting 5,000 years ago.
