Rampant Violence: Multiple Journalists Shot and Injured in Mexico

Five Mexican journalists were shot and injured in a single day, marking the worst day of violence against the country's press in over a decade. Four photojournalists were shot near a military barracks in Guerrero state, while another reporter and his companion were shot in Michoacán. These attacks come after three journalists were recently abducted and held in Guerrero. The incidents highlight the ongoing dangers faced by journalists in Mexico, where drug cartels and gangs are engaged in deadly turf battles. In the past five years, at least 54 journalists have been killed in the country.
