Survivors and Witnesses Recall Sydney Stabbing Spree

An Indian-origin couple, Shoi Ghoshal and Debashis Chakrabarty, recounted how they survived the knife attack at a Sydney shopping center by hiding in a backroom with others and barricading themselves with cardboard boxes. The attack resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to eight others, with the assailant, Joel Cauchi, being shot dead by the police. NSW Assistant Police Commissioner Anthony Cooke stated that the attacker had mental health issues, and there is no evidence to suggest any specific motivation behind the attack.
