Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a self-styled Khalistan ideologue, was shot dead in Canada's Surrey. He had emerged as the backbone of secessionist, terror, and anti-India activities being unleashed by groups sitting abroad. Nijjar was actively involved in spotting, networking, training, and financing Khalistani modules in India and was facing more than 10 FIRs. He was associated with the separatist organization, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), which is banned in India, and was designated as a terrorist by the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2020.
