Teenagers Face Court for Beheading French Teacher

Six teenagers, along with eight adults, are facing trial in France for their alleged involvement in the beheading of French history teacher Samuel Paty in 2020. The teacher had shown cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad in a class on freedom of expression, which angered some Muslim parents. The teenagers, aged between 14 and 15 at the time of the attack, are accused of premeditated criminal conspiracy or ambush, while one of the minors will be charged with false accusation. The trial is being held behind closed doors and could result in the minors facing up to 2.5 years in prison.
