Shopkeeper thwarts armed robbery by trapping intruder under shutters.

A shopkeeper in Durham foiled an attempted robbery by trapping the knife-wielding suspect under the shop's shutters until the police arrived. The suspect attempted to slide under the shutters to escape but mistimed his move and ended up pinned to the ground. The shopkeeper called 999 and the police arrived within three minutes to arrest the suspect. He was jailed for three years and four months after admitting attempted robbery and possession of a knife. CCTV footage captured the comical moment when the suspect got stuck under the shutters.
